The Stoxx 600 increased 0.4%, powered by the IT and automotive sectors, while the Dax rose 1% to outperform its regional peers. European stocks were higher on Friday.
The highly anticipated US nonfarm payrolls report is expected later in the day, and investors are waiting.
However, major European bourses are expected to experience a weekly decrease of more than 5%, which would be the largest weekly decline since mid-June.
