Brazil President Bolsonaro charged with nine crimes, Senate Votes in Favour Of Indictment

While President Bolsonaro in Brazil was charged with 9 crimes, including crimes against humanity, the senate in Brazil approves his indictment.


In a seven votes in favour and four against, the Brazilian Senate’s Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPI) approved the final report on Tuesday, according to which President Jair Bolsonaro was charged with nine crimes, including crimes against humanity.


The, appointed by the president and Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes, Attorney General Augusto Aras, will receive the report and request the commencement of judicial proceedings against Bolsonaro.


The crimes against humanity will be referred to the International Criminal Court (ICC) at The Hague

Bolsonaro’s sons, minister and the former health minister are among the total 80 who were indicted in the report.


As, according to the report, Bolsonaro repeteadly encouraged its people to ignore the social distancing and use of masks, his social media accounts were suspended as he was accused that he used them to spread false information.


Facebook and Instagram, removed Bolsonaro’s videos last week, while YouTube suspended Bolsonaro’s account for one week because of his statements about the Covid-19 vaccine in live broadcast from his social media account.


According to the report, Bolsonaro is charged with nine crimes, including epidemic resulting in death, infraction of preventive sanitary measure, charlatanism, incitement to crime, forgery of private documents, irregular employment of public funds, malfeasance, crimes against humanity, violation of social rights and incompatibility with the dignity, honor, and decorum of the presidency.
