The Moscow Exchange (MOEX) stated on Wednesday that trading will be suspended again on Thursday.
The Bank of Russia has decided that the Moscow Exchange's equity markets will be closed on March 3rd, according to a statement from MOEX.
"On the bond market, only negotiated buyback trades with ruble settlement are available," it noted. "On March 1-5, all MOEX markets will be closed for pre-market and after-hours trading."
As of Monday, the ruble had lost more than 20% versus the US dollar due to Russia's war in Ukraine and Western sanctions against Moscow.
From last Thursday to Monday, when trading operations were suspended until further notice, the MOEX Index, which is denominated in rubles, fell 16.7%.
In February, the MOEX dropped 35% from the previous month.
