European Stocks Open Slightly Higher.

London, Friday, 09 June 2023

As US Treasury yields declined following a jump in new unemployment claims in the US, predictions that the Federal Reserve will maintain interest rates next week were strengthened, and European equities markets were expected to begin modestly higher on Friday.

This was in line with advances among global counterparts. Next week, the European Central Bank will also make a decision about monetary policy.

Investors are still being cautious in the meanwhile as the IMF advised major central banks to "stay the course" on monetary policy and keep a tight eye on inflation.

On Friday, no significant data and earnings releases are scheduled. DAX, Stoxx 600, and FTSE 100 futures traded in premarket trade in a flat to somewhat positive range.
