South African Stocks Maintain Gains.

London, Wednesday, 28 June 2023

As investors looked ahead to Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell's address in Sintra today, the JSE FTSE All Share index was up above the 74,900 mark on Wednesday, on track for a second day of marginal gains. In the meantime, traders were analysing additional economic data from a variety of economies in an effort to determine the direction of the global economic recovery.

Recent economic statistics from the US emphasised the economy's continued resiliency, while China released depressing industrial figures. Heavyweight tech Naspers (+2%), industrials (+0.9%), and financials (+0.5%) were among the best performers on the corporate front.
