Asian Stocks Match Wall Street Loses After Fed’s Hawkish Remarks.

Asian Markets Summary


Major Asian bourses fell on Thursday, matching overnight losses on Wall Street, after the Federal Reserve adopted a more hawkish tone and signalled a rate hike in March, leaving the door open to additional and higher rate hikes. The worst-performing stocks were those in the technology sector.


The Nikkei 225 (down 3.1 percent to 26170) and the Kospi (down 3.5 percent to 2614) lead the regional falls. The Shanghai Composite fell 1.8 percent to 3394, the Hang Seng down 2% to 23807, and the ASX fell 1.8 percent to 6838, all of which are now in correction zone.
