Tesla Jumps More Than 12% topping $1Trillion In Market Cap For The First Time, Dow and S&P 500 Close

The S&P 500 and Dow Jones closed at record highs, as Tesla rallied more than 12%, after rental company Hertz ordered 100,000 Tesla vehicles for its fleet, sending consumer discretionary stocks more than 2% up, and gains in energy ahead of quarterly earnings for big tech.

S&P: +0.49% record closing at 4,566.92

Dow Jones: +0.19 record closing at 35,741.15

Nasdaq: +0.90%

European stock markets close higher with the exception of France, while Italy’s FTSE MIB 30 was the best performer, up 0.92%.
