Dow Closed In Negatives, S&P 500 And Nasdaq with gains, Europe Down In Major Selloff

S&P 500: +15 points, or 0.34%, at 4,704 as Tesla increased 0.7%

Nasdaq: +72 points, or 0.45%, to finish at 15,993

Dow Jones: -60 points, or 0.17%, at 35,870. IBM and Walt Disney fell more than 1% each.


VIX volatility index: +2.1% to 17.47


U.S. dollar index: -0.3% to 95.55.


Yield on 10-year U.S. Treasury notes: -1.26% to 1.584%


Oil prices


Brent crude: +1.1% at $81.17 per barrel

West Texas Intermediate: +1% to $78.36.


Precious metals


Gold: -0.36% to $1,860 an ounce

Silver: -1.1% to $24.81.


European stocks down in major selloff


STOXX Europe: -2.25 points, or 0.46%, to close at 487.70

FTSE 100 in London: -35 points, or 0.48%, to end the day at 7,255

DAX 30 in Germany: fell 29 points, or 0.18%, to finish at 16,2221

CAC 40 in France: -14 points, or 0.21%, to close at 7,141

FTSE MIB 30 in Italy: -163 points, or 0.59%, to end the day at 27,661

IBEX 35 in Spain: -163 points, or 0.59%, to end the day at 27,661
