U.S. Stocks Floated Lower On Wednesday, European Markets Mixed Amid High Inflation


S&P 500: 0.26% to close at 4,689

Dow Jones: -0.6% lower at 35,931

Nasdaq: -0.33% to close at 15,922


VIX volatility index: +2.8% to 16.83


Dollar index: unchanged at 95.91


10-year U.S. Treasury note yield: +0.3% to 1.639%


Oil prices down

Brent crude: -0.8% to $81.75 per barrel

West Texas Intermediate: -1.1% to $78.86


Precious metals up

Gold: +0.76 to $1,864 per ounce

Silver: +1% to $25.08 per ounce


Bitcoin: -2.1% trading just below $60,000


European stock markets closed mixed on Wednesday amid high inflation figures.


According to Eurostat, annual inflation rate in the UE reached 4.4% in October, up from 3.6% in September.


In the Eurozone, annual inflation came at 4.1% in October, up from 3.4% the previous month.


STOXX Europe 600: +0.14% or 0.68 points to close at 489.95

FTSE 100 in London: -0.49% or 35 points to close at 7,291

DAX 30 in Germany: almost flat. It added just 3 points or 0.02%, to close at16,251

CAC 40 in France: +0.06% or 4 points, to close at 7,156

FTSE MIB 30 in Italy: +0.07% or 20 points, to close at 27,824

IBEX 35 in Spain: -0.52% or 46 points, to close at 8,993
